Legendary highlife musician, music producer, instrumentalist, member of Osibisa and 2nd vice president for MUSIGA, Bessa Simons has bounced back into the music scene after he went off for some years with his new song titled ” I love you” ft Kesse.
The Legend, born into a music home where his father was an organist, music teacher and a choirmaster, began playing the Organ at an early age. Although he was born into a music home, he started music officially during his secondary school days at Aggrey Memorial School in Cape Coast when he joined the school band. Bessa Simons became a member of the popular and one of the first African heritage bands to become widely known, “Osibisa” which was formed in 1969. The band was a British Afrobeat band, founded in London by four Africans and three Carribean musicians, where he played the Organ some years later after it was formed.
The ace musician became an icon in the mid 1970’s during the time he joined the Pelikans Dance Band and eventually to the Wantu Wazuri Band. During the late 90’s and early 2000, the celebrated producer released his two major songs “Awowye” and “Belembe” which took over the air waves. Perhaps one might have thought that Bessa Simons had retired from music with all his great achievements and talent since it’s been ages since he last dropped a song, not until what came as a “Comeback” surprise early this year from his camp announcing his soon to be released song which is to officially welcome him back to the industry with the hastag #BessaBack.
The song will be officially outdoor in a performance on the 16th of this month which happens to be a month of love, at +233 bar and grill to trill all music lovers and fans of Bessa. The comeback of Bessa Simons shows that indeed Bessa has no retiring age when it comes to music.
