The reigning queen of TV3’s reality beauty contest Vera Oheneba Safoah, popularly known as ESI, has been nominated in two categories in the 2016 Ghana Tertiary Awards.
ESI has been nominated in the Most Influential Beauty Queen and the Most Influential Student Foundation categories.
A fresh graduate of from the University of Ghana with a degree in Economics and Information Studies, Esi has been described as an influential beauty queen since winning the Ghana’s Most Beautiful and has made headlines on most activities she has been engaged in.
Esi has been involved in a vigorous campaign on youth empowerment and anti-teenage pregnancy issues with her foundation, Pempamsie Foundation.
In an exclusive interview with 3news.com‘s Thomas Vincent Cann, Esi expressed gratitude to the organizers of the 2016 Ghana Tertiary Awards for the nominations.
According to her, it was refreshing news when organizers contacted her to break the news to her.
“It’s a good news when organizers told me about my nomination for the Most Influential Beauty Queen and also student foundation,” she said.
Esi, who is out to represent Ghana in the 2016 Miss Freedom of the World, stressed how she sees the nominations and recognition.
“I must say am grateful to God for this honour, at least it gives me more urge to do more as the little I am doing has already been recognized because things have not been on the silver platter.”
She recounted activities she has been involved in as an advocate for youth empowerment in the help to fight reduction of the teenage pregnancy in the country especially in the Central Region, where she hails from.
“You know I went into Ghana’s Most Beautiful not just for the fame but to make a positive impact out there especially amongst the youth and thankfully, I won and have a solid team who help me to run my PEMPAMSIE FOUNDATION which is geared towards youth empowerment and curbing teenage pregnancy which by God’s grace is making some strides.”
She appealed to her fans and friends to help her win the awards.

Ending the interview, Esi encouraged the youth especially the young women to do their best in national development with the best they can.
