The 10th edition of TV3’s pageant reality show, Ghana’s Most Beautiful, has been launched.

The launch, which took place inside the Aburi Botanical Gardens, saw the display of culture and tradition.

The event was under the auspices and royalty of the Adontenhene of Akuapem and the Acting President of the Akuapem Traditional Council, Otubuor Gyan Kwasi II.

Otubuor Gyan Kwasi II, who is Aburihene, lauded TV3 for such an “educative and insightful” programme, saying it has opened up the traditions of other regions without the need to travel.

He explained that because of the education the programme provides one needs not to travel to know the rich cultures of other traditional areas.

He observed how he has personally gotten to know about the culture and tradition of Upper East, Upper West and Northern regions by just watching the reality show.

Group Chief Executive Officer of Media General Gary Alfonso expressed gratitude to the chiefs and people of Aburi for the warm welcome, not only for Sunday’s launch but also for hosting one of the major transmission lines of TV3.

Mr Alfonso urged the ten contestants to give off their best in the ensuing weeks and make their regions proud.

He explained that should spur the contestants on to put up a great show not only for the regions they represent but also to Africans and the world since the programme will be widely telecast.

‘Destiny-helpers’

The ten contestants to vie for the crown, for keeps, and the plush 4 X 4 car are Naa Dede (Greater Accra), Kafui (Volta), Badu (Ashanti), Yaba (Western) and Alaya (Upper East).

The rest are Deme (Upper West), Ama (Brong Ahafo), Efua (Central), Hiba (Northern) and Akos (Eastern).

GMB IX winner Esi did not mince words as regards the hardwork the contestants need to exude to win the crown.

“My dear ladies, the journey will be tough. Fasten your seatbelts.”

She said since only one person can be crowned the winner, the nine are going to be the destiny-helpers of that one.

She called on all to support their candidates by way of votes to see them emerge tops.
