The Black Stars have been held to a goalless draw by the Cranes of Uganda in their first Group E world cup qualifying match.

The match played at the Tamale Sports Stadium on Friday, October 7 saw both sides failing to find the back of the net.

Razak Braimah was in post for the three-time world cup qualifiers while skipper Denis Onyango kept the post for the East Africans.

A superb save by the latter denied Leicester City’s Daniel Amartey an opportunity to score his first goal for Ghana.

The result of the match gives the two sides a point each ahead of the other group game between Egypt and Congo on Saturday.
