Ghanaian actress Janet Brefo Yankson popularly known in showbiz as Sweet Mimi has urged fellow up-and-coming actresses not to accept movie roles in exchange for sex from movie directors anymore.
In an interview on Ezra Entertainment Arena (Agoropapa) a Kumasi-based Ezra FM, the actress stated that young actresses should rather sleep with people in exchange for iPhones or material things rather than do it for mere movie roles.
According to her, since there is an opportunity for young actresses to make skits on social media platforms that have the potential of making them popular, there is no need to sleep with movie directors for roles.
“If an old man tells you to have sleep with him before he gives you a role please don’t do it because becoming a star in our era has become so easy. If nobody casts you in a movie, you can create content with your phone to become a star. Please don’t allow anyone to sleep with you, go and buy an iPhone or sleep with someone in exchange for an iPhone but don’t sleep with someone for a role,” she said.
“An iPhone can make you a star but one role in a movie can’t make you a star. Because after the director has used you in a movie, that is the end; he is not going to cast you in another movie,” she added.
