The deputy Minister of Education in charge of Tertiary, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has revealed that the Abodoman Community Day Secondary School at Agona Abodom in the Central Region was built at the cost of 8 million Ghana Cedis.

Speaking on Onua 95.1FM’s Yensempa morning show Monday, he recalled that this is the second community day school commissioned by the President in the Central Region.

The first one was at Etuam – the Prof. Mills Memorial Community Day School. The Community Day Schools were part of the governing National Democratic Congress’ manifesto promises for the 2012 elections. They had planned to build 200 but less than 10 have been commissioned so far.

But Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa indicated that five more of such schools have been completed in the Central Region.

President John Dramani Mahama on Monday 5th September 2016 commissioned the Abodoman SHS as part of his five-day campaign tour to the Central Region.

The School is a four storey that can admit about 1,500 students. It has four science laboratories, and Assembly Hall, two Computer Laboratories, state of the art Library.

The Deputy Minister said the project will create jobs and provide job opportunities to many people in and around the area.

He stressed that all this is intended to boost the economic condition of the people in the region.

Okudzeto Ablakwa believes that the construction of the school is another way of solving the unemployed situation in the country.

He used the opportunity to appreciate and congratulate the contractors for speeding up the work and also presenting the area with the beautiful school.
