The Oda Divisional Command has arrested two accomplices in the murder of a 42-year-old taxi driver last Wednesday.
The deceased driver, Eric Kofi Nartey, was reported to have been hired by the suspects to their home at Akim Oda quarters.
But after he shouted for help when the suspects attempted to snatch the cab from him, they escaped.
The residents, who rushed out to help, found the near dead body of the taxi driver and sent him to the Oda Government Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
This angered the residents, forcing them to set ablaze the house the assailants were thought to have escaped into with the hope of burning them alive.
The Ghana National Fire Service was, however, called in to put out the flame. The Achiase military also came to calm the situation.
The two – Jospeh Arthur King, 20, and Suleman Dauda, 20 – were arrested on Thursday morning.
They have been remanded into prison custody to reappear on Wednesday, August 3.
The prime suspect, Emmanuel Kweku Adjei, is still on the run.
Only to be hit by them.
His shouts raised an alarm causing residents to come to his aid, but the assailant had escaped.
