The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Akufo-Addo has warned Ghanaians of the dire consequence the country would be plunged into if electorate cast their votes to extend the tenure of President John Mahama.

Speaking ahead of a lecture by his running mate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia at the National Theatre in Accra Thursday, Nana Akufo-Addo predicted a considerable damage for Ghanaians if the NDC government is maintained.

“It is clear to me and I hope it is clear to the majority of people in our country that four more years of the Mahama government is going to do considerable damage to the prospect of the Ghanaian…” he said.

He therefore charged persons who are committed to deepening Ghana’s democracy to bear a “huge responsibility” of persuading Ghanaians to make a “historic choice” of voting out the government of John Dramani Mahama.

He remarked that a vote for the NPP will “put away four years of stagnation and usher in a new era of Ghanaian prosperity”.

Nana Akufo-Addo assured Ghanaians that prosperity under the NPP government would be spread across and not “confined to a few people”.

The NPP flagbearer who is contesting the presidential election for a third time eulogised former President John kufuor, noting that he is one of the few Ghanaians who have the interest of Ghana at heart.

Assessing the eight-year leadership of Mr. Kufuor, Nana Akufo-Addo described him as the “outstanding president of the Fourth Republic. No doubt about that”.

He was extremely confident the NPP is going to win the December elections.

The theme for Bawumia’s lecture was “The State of the Ghanaian Economy, A foundation of Concrete or Straw”.
