Presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is to appoint 216 people across the country to see to the implementation of the New Patriotic Party’s planned one-district, one-factory policy.

Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, who revealed this on Onua FM Wednesday, explained that there will be one person in each of the districts to identify the raw materials there to inform the kind of factory to be built.

Nana Akufo-Addo in June announced what has come to be known as ‘one district, one factory’ as part of plans to industrialise and transform the Ghana’s economy if elected as the president in this year’s election.

He explained the factories will not only commence the rapid industrialization of Ghana’s economy, but also will result in the creation of hundreds of thousands of jobs needed by the masses of unemployed Ghanaian youth.

Ahead of Nana Akufo-Addo’s campaign tour of the Ashanti Region Wednesday, Mr Antwi Boasiako told Bright Asempa, host of Onua FM morning show that the 216 persons to be appointed will serve as coordinators for the policy.

He said they would coordinate between the various district, municipal and metropolitan assemblies and the presidency on the establishment and running of the factories.
Mr Antwi Boasiako said farming related factories will take the center stage in the ‘one-district, one-factory’ policy.
