Ghanaian-American artist Amaarae, born Ama Serwah Genfi, has achieved platinum certification in the United States for her hit track “Sad Girlz Luv Money,” featuring Kali Uchis & Moliy, as announced by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The certification acknowledges the song’s outstanding success, surpassing 1 million certified units in sales and streams. Initially released as a single in 2020 from Amaarae’s debut album “The Angel You Don’t Know,” the song gained widespread popularity, especially on TikTok, following a remix with Kali Uchis released on September 16, 2021.

It secured its place on various international charts, peaking at number 80 on the US Billboard Hot 100. “Sad Girlz Luv Money” has amassed over 421 million streams on Spotify.
