The family of the slain investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein Suale has identified three individuals as major suspects in his gruesome murder case.
The family spokesperson has revealed that the police have listed Kennedy Agyapong, Kwesi Nyantakyi, and Anas Aremeyaw Anas as the main suspects in the case. Ahmed Suale was a member of the Tiger Eye Private Investigations team, led by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
Kennedy Agyapong, a Member of Parliament and a media personality, has been accused of making reckless statements that may have contributed to the murder. Agyapong had publicly criticized and disclosed the identity of Ahmed Suale prior to his death, raising concerns about his safety.
Kwesi Nyantakyi, a former president of the Ghana Football Association, was implicated in a corruption scandal by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, which led to his resignation from both FIFA and CAF. Nyantakyi was also linked to the murder investigation.
Anas Aremeyaw Anas, a renowned investigative journalist, was a colleague of Ahmed Suale and had worked closely with him on various undercover investigations.
The case of Ahmed Suale’s murder has remained unsolved for several years, despite promises from the government to seek justice. The investigation has faced challenges, including the release of all initially arrested suspects due to lack of evidence. The case has highlighted concerns about the safety of journalists and the need for thorough investigations into attacks on media professionals in Ghana.
