Another Ghanaian pilgrim whose name has been given as Alhaji Yakubu Zakaria has passed on in Saudi Arabia.
This follows the passing on on September 13 of Alhaji Alhassan Kuku of Accra.
The latest casualty, 65, is said to hail from the Volta Region.
He died of cardiogenic shock, according to the Ghana Medical Team in Saudi Arabia.
He was rushed to the Ghana Clinic on Saturday morning but died within 5 minutes of arrival, a statement from the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) said.
He is expected to be buried on the Holy Land after Asr prayers.
His relatives back home have already been informed about the death.
“On behalf of the good people of Ghana and all stakeholders, the PAOG extend its condolences to the bereaved family and all who have been affected by this death.
“We mourn and empathise with the family during this moment of grief and lost.”
