Members of the Ghana Association of Biomedical Laboratory Scientists have called off their one-week old strike.
The laboratory technicians embarked on strike on Monday, August 22 over their demand for a national policy to cover their services.
Though they were prevailed upon by the National Labour Commission (NLC) as per a complaint lodged by the Ministry of Health not to strike, the lab scientists withdrew their services, affecting major centers like the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
On Monday, August 29, the Association announced that the strike has been called off.
This was contained in a communique issued to members across the nation.
Reports say the strike was called off after the Commission threatened to take a legal action against members.
