Ghana’s senior women’s soccer team, the Black Queens, is still Africa’s second-ranked side after Nigeria’s Super Falcons.

The global football-governing body, Fifa, on Friday, August 26 released its women’s ranking for the month.

The Black Queens maintained their 46th ranking in the world with the Falcons pegged at 37th.

Former African champions Equatorial Guinea, however, dropped to 5th on the continent with South Africa’s Bayana Bayana taking their position.

Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, South Africa and the Guineans constitute Africa’s Top 5.

There was no change in the world’s Top 10 with USA leading the pack.

But Canada’s bronze-winning performance at the just-ended Rio Olympic Games saw them move six places to the 4th position.

Australia and Brazil, though dropping two places apiece, kept their places in the Top 10.

The Top 10 are USA, Germany, France, Canada, England, Sweden, Australia, Japan, Korea DPR and Brazil
