Ghanaian music star Mohammed Ismail Sherif famously known as Black Sherif has won the Best International Flow award at the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards.
This is the second time Sherif has been nominated in the category, having been shortlisted in 2022 but lost out to Benjamin EPPS.
Black Sherif beat some of the biggest names in international hip hop, including UK rapper Central Cee, French rapper Gazo, South African rapper AKA among others.

The awards ceremony was taped from Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta, GA, on Tuesday, October 3, and is slated to be premiered on Tuesday, October 10 at 9 PM ET/PT on BET.
This year’s edition paid homage to 50 years of Hip Hop with a non-stop party. Tip “T.I.” Harris, Nelly, City Girls, Fabolous, Juvenile, Mannie Fresh, Tyrese, Chingy, DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Holiday, D-Nice, and Technician the DJ joined previously announced performers.
Black Sherif is the second Ghanaian artist to win in the category.
In 2019, Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie also made history as he won in the newly created category Best International Flow.
The BET Hip Hop Awards is one of the most prestigious awards ceremonies in hip-hop. The awards are presented by the Black Entertainment Television network and celebrate the best in hip-hop music, culture, and fashion.
