Ghana Pemier League side Medeama SC have secured a 3-1 victory over Tanzania’s Young Africans in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The match played on Tuesday, July 26 was a second round Group A fixture. The reverse fixture ended 1-1 at Dar es Salaam’s National Stadium.
Daniel Amoah began the scoring in the seventh minute at the Sekondi Essipon Stadium with Abass Mohammed doubling the lead in the 25th minute.
Though Simon Msuva pulled one back for the East Africans, Abass got a second and his side’s third with eight minutes to end the first half.
The score stayed the same putting Yanga, as the Tanzanian side is affectionately called, beyond reaching the semi-final stage of the competition.
The win brightens Medeama’s chances of making it past the group stage after going level on points with Algeria’s MO Bejaia.
