The Central Regional capital, Cape Coast, is awashed with the colours of the National Democratic Congress ahead of its 2016 election campaign launch on Sunday August 14, which has been tipped to shake the entire metropolis.

Major roads leading to the newly built Cape Coast Stadium where the event will take place,  have all been splashed in the red, green, black and white colours of the party.

Business activities have hit a crescendo awaiting the arrival of party and government officials led by President John Mahama who is seeking the mandate of Ghanaians for another four-year term.

The launch will kickstart the party’s campaign for this year’s general election in an attempt to retain the governance of the country.

Tension ahead of launch
Some resident of Cape Coast have raised concerns over the timing of the launch on the basis that it is in violation of some traditional rites due to the obseverance of a ban on noise making ahead of the Oguaa Fetu Festival of the chiefs and people of Cape Coast late this month.

They accused the Oguaa Traditional Council of bribery resulting in its lifting of the ban earlier than the due date. That, they claim goes against  the tenets of their tradition.
