Popular Ghanaian musician Kwabena Kwabena and Kumawood actor Yaw Dabo have visited to show support to Chef Failatu Abdul Razak, the Ghanaian woman attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale.
During the visit, Yaw Dabo expressed his love for Fufu, a traditional Ghanaian dish, and said he would love to eat it if Chef Faila was preparing it. “So I will eat fufu,”
They have called on the general public across the 16 regions of Ghana, including celebrities and politicians, to show their support for Chef Faila as they did for Afua Asantewaa during her attempt to break the Guinness World Record sing-a-thon in Accra few days ago.
The current Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon is being held by Irish chef Alan Fisher, who cooked for 119 hours and 57 minutes. Chef Faila aims to cook for 120 hours and set a new record.
The event commenced on Monday midnight, January 1, and has Chef Faila fervently dedicated to an uninterrupted culinary marathon lasting an impressive five days and more. So far she has been able to clock over 58 hours.
The aim is to not only elevate Chef Faila’s culinary standing but also to place the nation on the global culinary map.
In a recent update on culinary milestones, Afua Asantewaa concluded her remarkable attempt at the longest sing-a-thon marathon, achieving a noteworthy record of 126 hours and 52 minutes.
