Relationship speaker George Lutterodt, popularly known as Counselor Lutterodt has finally apologised for his comments about rape victims.
He issued the apology in an exclusive interview with Kwasi Aboagye on Entertainment Review on Peace FM on Saturday.
Earlier this week, Counselor Lutterodt was a guest on Adom TV’s “Badwam” morning show and claimed that “every rape victim enjoys the act before conclusion.”
During his interview on Entertainment Review, Counselor Lutterodt tried justifying his comments but finally succumbed when he admitted that he erred by using the word ‘every’ in his conversation.
“No form of rape is accepted in the world so whatever I said about the rape issue please forgive me,” he apologized.
When asked if he was apologizing because he’s been forced to do so he replied no.
“Nobody can force me to apologize Kwasi, I have regretted making such comments and this apology is deep from my heart.
“The back and forth conversation proves that I have used the word ‘every’ and I apologized for that,” he said.
Counselor Lutterodt has been condemned by people in many sectors with actress Ama K Abebrese leading the charge to have him banned from speaking on radio or TV. She called him a rape apologist and said he was fuelling rape culture.
The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has also issued a statement to condemn his comments.
