New Patriotic Party’s Vice Presidential Candidate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has been enstooled Nkosuohene of the Adankwaman Traditional Area of the Central Region.

Dr Bawumia was in the area as part of his week-long campaign tour of the Region.

In front of hundreds of their subjects, the chiefs of Assin Damang said Nana Addo Akufo-Addo’s running mate cannot be allowed to leave the area without making him a part of it.

They therefore installed him Nkosuohene, to wit ‘Development Chief’.

The occupant is expected to lead development efforts in a community.

Nana Kwabena Waadie II, who is the Kyedomhen of Adankwaman, expressed confidence in Dr Bawumia helping the development of the area, especially when the NPP wins the December 7 elections.

Chief of Assin Damang Nana Afansi Asiampa II, who doubles as Omanhen of Adankwaman Traditional Area, lauded efforts of the John Agyekum Kufuor-led government in bringing glory to his community by appointing an illustrious son, Prof Dominic Fobih, as minister.

He admitted that gesture at least put Daman – theretofore not known – on the country’s map.

In his acceptance speech, Dr Bawumia thanked the chiefs and people of Adankwaman, promising to respond to their calls morn, noon and night.

He said he will make sure development reaches the people if his party wins the upcoming elections.
