Black Star player Andre Dede Ayew did have a debut to savour with West Ham United after suffering a hamstring in their 2-1 loss at Chelsea on Monday.
He had to be hobble off the pitch with the right leg of his shorts rolled up.
The left-footed player had enjoyed a debut season in the English Premier at the same venue last year, scoring his first goal in Swansea City’s 2-2 with the Blues then managed by Jose Mourinho.
But a return to the Stamford Bridge was more disappointing to Ayew as he pulled a muscle in the 333rd minute, forcing manager Slaven Bilic to substitute the Hammers’ record signing.
He was replaced by Gokhan Tore.
The extent of the injury is yet to be known.
After a goalless first half, goals from Eden Hazard and Diego Costa for Chelsea and James Collins for West Ham saw the match end 2-1 in favour of Antonio Conte’s men.
