The much publicized Asaase Sound Clash organized by newly established Asaase Radio came off last night.
The event which took place in Accra was between dancehall artistes Charles Nii Armah Mensah well known as Shatta Wale and Livingston Etse Satekla popularly known as Stonebwoy.
The main motive behind the clash was to settle the bragging rights of who the real dancehall king is, since both Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy lay claim to that title.
KwasiAboagyeLive.com has seen feedback from people we would want to share with our readers.
Before the clash, the organizers made it clear that the night would be strictly about dancehall music and not just a concert and a section of the public think Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy should have performed only Dancehall songs.
“Of course Ghanaians know the two great musicians are versatile and have highlife songs as Shatta Wale won Highlife Song of the Year with “My Level” at last year’s VGMA and Stonebwoy released “Sobolo” early this year but in fact, some of us wanted to see the lyrical dancehall battle and not what you gave us as watching VGMA,” Nana Adjoa Silky said.
“It was a sound clash not dancehall lyrical clash, stonebwoy took as lyrical clash early stage but in later stage he realized it was sound clash so any song is allow. U can see shatta even performed about 5 dancehall songs out of his uncomfortable dancehall tunes. Sound clash isn’t lyrical clash there’s difference,” Germain OB wrote.
People had issues with the final verdict as the organisers said, “We didn’t get a winner we had a clash! We crushed COVID,” which means it was a tie.
Some people could not understand why after voting for their favorite artiste, organizers had to say it was a tie. They think the organizers played with their minds.
Others also believe it was fair on the part of the organizers not to choose a winner.
“So why they made people vote, waste data money too…They lied. So nobody wins the car too. Only in Ghana 😂,” John Klu said.
“That bi alll👏, if u bring winner another fight go happen,” Tawiah Kojo said.
