Flagbearer of the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) Dr. Henry Lartey says his disqualification from the 2016 polls by the Electoral Commission is a blessing in disguise, citing that it has made the party unbelievably popular.
Dr. Henry Lartey was amongst 12 presidential hopefuls, who were disqualified to contest the 2016 general elections, on several reasons.
Addressing a press briefing on Thursday to state his official position on the Electoral Commission’s decision, Dr. Lartey said the GCPP will survive “these challenging times”.
“We qualified in 2012 even though I missed one signature at that time but they called me and within seconds I had done it so why couldn’t they do it this time?” he asked.
According to him, the Electoral Commission intended to embarrass GCPP but said they have rather been made more popular.
“They thought they were embarrassing us but in the process they have made us so popular. It is unbelievable!
“The GCPP is here to help Ghanaians to be successful and to bring them in so we can build electrical cars and even help our own Sarfo Kantanka to also join in building electrical cars and that is domestication and once we build electrical cars we will earn more than trillions”.
