The Omanhen of Atti-Morkwaa Traditional Area Nana Kwesi Kyeasae II has appealed to the Ministry of Education to support the only community school in the area, Morkwaa Day Senior High School.
He asked for improvement in enrollment of students and asked that teachers are put on the Ghana Education Service’s payroll.
Nana Kyeasae II was speaking on Thursday during the Vice President’s visit to the area as part of his campaign tour of the Western Region.
Nana Kyeasae II commended the Member of Parliament for Twifo-Atti Morkwaa Constituency, Ato Amoah, for the support he has given to the school by way of using part of his Common Fund to pay teachers.
The Morkwaa Day Senior High School was established in December last year.
Addressing the chiefs and people of Morkwaa, Minister of Education Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman commended the community for their support.
She called on parents to continue seeing education as a bedrock of the community.
Prof Opoku-Agyemang promised that government will support the school and that will be witnessed within the shortest possible time.
