Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, NPP running mate to Nana Akufo-Addo, has charged the people of the Central region to vote out the current John Mahama/ NDC Administration to end the unprecedented hardships the people in the region and Ghana as a whole are facing.

Speaking to thousands at dawn on Tuesday  at Breman Bedum, who had patiently waited for the NPP running mate till after midnight, Dr. Bawumia stated to loud cheers that voting out the NDC in the December elections, will usher in a new period of economic renewal, development and jobs.

“We can only bring an end to the hardships we face today by going out to vote and voting massively for Nana Akufo-Addo and your Parliamentary Candidate, Anthony Effah. The NPP is coming to transform our economy and ensure that the economy and our abundant resources we have as a nation works for all to benefit”, he said as he toured the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa constituency.

Lamenting over the state of the economy and the suffering that afflicts the masses today at Brakwa, which was brought to a standstill for more than two hours due to the overflow of residents who poured out to welcome Dr. Bawumia and the NPP parliamentary candidate, Anthony Effah, Dr. Bawumia noted the country had had access to so much resources in the past few years.

However, he stated that the resources had only benefitted a privileged few while the masses had become poorer and seen a worsening in their living conditions.

“The situation we see now is that though there is a lot of money in our country but this money remains at the top, it does not come down and those at the top keep stealing it or stashing it in London, Dubai or Burkina Faso. This is what we want to change. We want the economy to work for you and we want you to enjoy the benefits of the resources of this land and your hard work”, he said.

Dr. Bawumia who was on the first day of his Central Regional Tour, also visited Asikuma and Odoben, all in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa constituency where he was also met by large crowd with chants of ‘we want change’ and ‘yeresesamu’ as they decried the hardships and stalling of development their communities were witnessing.
