Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has expressed sadness and shock at the passing of the mother of President John Dramani Mahama.

In a statement issued from Stockhoolm, Sweden, where he is on a “speaking engagement”, the former president prayed for the soul of Madam Fatima Abiba Nnaba.

President Mahama’s mother died on Tuesday night after a short illness.

The statement revealed how the ex-president called on Wednesday, June 15 to console President Mahama and his entire family.

The mother of the president has been scheduled to be buried on Sunday, June 19.
