Popular musician Fameye opened up about his struggle with heartbreak and the unconventional ways he coped with the pain.
The artist, known for his distinctive locs, revealed that during a particularly challenging period, he resorted to drastic measures like cutting off his rasta and dyeing his hair in an attempt to navigate through the emotional turmoil.
In a recent interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM, Fameye revealed that he has never been the initiator of a breakup. Instead, he shared that all of his past relationships concluded due to decisions made by the women involved. The artist expressed a belief that excessive displays of love can sometimes lead to heartache.
To overcome the profound heartbreak, Fameye adopted various coping mechanisms. Aside from the drastic changes to his appearance, he admitted to temporarily developing a lust for all women as a part of his healing process. He mentioned how he took a generous approach, sharing the entire 3000gh earned from a show during that challenging time. Fameye recounted how he engaged with people, sharing his heartbreak story and giving each person 50gh as a gesture of connection.
In an unexpected twist, he went on to describe an unusual act of generosity by taking the woman who broke his heart and her new partner to a pub, where he treated them to drinks and kebabs. However, the aftermath revealed the emotional toll, as he returned to Accra having spent all the money earned from the gig.
From this experience, Fameye emerged with a newfound caution about trusting too much in relationships, particularly advising men to be vigilant. He believes that women might end a relationship on their terms, urging others to approach relationships with a level of caution and awareness.
