Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has ordered for the immediate withdrawal of H&H Corn Milk Infant Cereal and H&H Nutritious Milk Powder from the market.
The authority says it cannot guarantee the nutritional value and suitability of the products imported by the H&H Company Ltd.
These two products on the market have not been registered by the FDA, a press release signed by Mr. John Odame-Darkwah Deputy Chief Executive Officer, (Food Safety Division) on June 8 said.
“The FDA has amongst others directed the importer to immediately ensure the recall and withdrawal of the products from the market,” it noted.
“The FDA, therefore, wishes to advise the general public against the patronage of the products; any person who purchases the said products for consumption by infants therefore does so at his or her own risk.”
The FDA also assured the general public of its readiness to ensure public health and safety at all times.
It therefore appealed to the general public to give any information on any practice which has the possibility of endangering public health and safety, through any of its contacts: 0244337235, 0244337249, 0244563764 or on the toll free line 0800151000.
