The death of former Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church of Ghana, Most Rev Dr Samuel Asante-Antwi has been announced.

A report sighted on Graphic Online says he died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on Sunday morning.

Before his death, Rev Asante-Antwi was also the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral.

Despite being very sick, Rev Dr Asante was optimistic about the building of the National Cathedral, a source disclosed.

He was inducted into office as the ninth President of the Conference of the Methodist Church of Ghana on August 26, 1997.
