A former first vice chair of the New Patriotic Party, Fred Oware, has declared his intention to run for the party’s chairmanship position for the second time.
Mr Oware in 2014 contested the late Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, businessman Paul Afoko and twice-failed Chairman Aspirant Stephen Ntim but failed to secure the mandate of the electorates.
But Mr Oware told 3News he intends to try for the second time in a bid to win the party chairmanship.
“I didn’t win the first time I contested because the truth is that I didn’t get majority of the votes but I hope to do it next time around in 2017 or 2018.
He explained that although he did what he thought was going to win him the position at the time, which did not work out, noting he is better informed now on what to differently to win the chairmanship.
Mr Oware said he is not seeking the chairmanship position for himself “but maybe I’m consumed by the knowledge and passion that there is something in me that I have to offer to the people of Ghana and for my party.
“That zeal pushes you to go the extra mile and its nothing like I would like to add something to my CV because at this age what CV do I really want to go and do what with it”.
