Grammy nominee, Livingstone Etse Satekla, better known as Stonebwoy, has revealed that he sees a possible collaboration with his Ghanaian genre rival, Shatta Wale, in the near future.
In jest, the award-winning musician said that Shatta Wale does not invest in shooting quality videos, “so that collaboration nu, we go fight for like one hour before it will happen.”
Stonebwoy said it is just a matter of time that Ghanaians will see them on the same stage.
“But you know everything happens with time and I don’t want to sound political,” the ‘Into The Future’ crooner said on the Yaad Settingz show of Asaase 99.5 Accra.
“As I sit here, I believe in a clean heart and I know that as powerhouses as the two of us are, we can shake the ground.
“And I hope and pray that it doesn’t become too late or it doesn’t become too early,” Stonebwoy told the show host King Lagazee.
Under the reggae/dancehall genre fraternity in Ghanaian music, there are a few names that hold as much weight and influence as Stonebwoy and Shatta wale.
These two top musicians have dominated and influrenced the music scene with their powerful lyrics and their rivalry has been the stuff of legends.
In the past, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale have not seen eye to eye, a situation which led to an almost bloody clash at the 2019 edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Although the two seemingly made up after the altercation, there have been silent jabs from time to time from the two camps leaving fans wondering if they’re ever going to make peace and collaborate on a song.
