The Ghana Gaming Commission has ordered betting companies in the country to adhere to their new directives outlined.
The commission in a statement ordered betting companies not to celebrities as ambassadors or use them for advertisements.
According to the new guideline, it is not allowed for people who have huge followers on social media to entice people to patronize the services of these companies.
“Operators shall not use celebrities in their advertisements to entice the general public to gamble.
“To ensure the new guideline is followed all advertisement must be approved by the commission to help protect not only underage persons but the interests of punters, customers and stakeholders,” part of the statement read.
The Commission also restricted how betting advertisements are to be publicized.
