The lady who was said to have endorsed the nomination forms for both the United Front Party and the Great Consolidated People’s Party’s (GCPP) presidential aspirant is alleging that the GCPP forged her signature.
The subscriber, Amadu Babia Latifa who spoke to 3FM’s SUNRISE morning show host, Winston Amoah insists she has nothing to do with Dr. Henry Herbert Lartey of the GCPP.
Though she agrees the details provided by GCPP belongs to her, she says, “I subscribed for only one presidential candidate and that is Dr. Agyenim Boateng of the UFP. I know nothing about the GCPP, I was never a member of the GCPP, I don’t know where they got my details from.”
Asked how her signature could have appeared on the GCPP’s form, she stated, “they forged my signature. Because the only person or institutions who know my signature are my party members, Ghana Education Service and some financial institutions no one else knows my details”.
Her story was corroborated by Dr. Boateng who is upset for being disqualified on the basis of some body’s forgery.
“We served the EC on Thursday so were waiting for their response fully. The fault is not from my personal data, it’s unfortunate that someone who endorsed me has her information on another candidate’s forms. It’s unfortunate so I pray that the EC gives me the opportunity or allows that to be corrected to or replace the fellow.”
He further maintained, “The subscriber in the Sissala district of the Upper East region did not endorse the GCPP candidate. That’s why my lawyer has made her swear an affidavit to that effect.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Henry Herbert Lartey of the GCPP who was also disqualified by the EC, and now being accused of forgery, is also heading for court.
