Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has warned the electorate against voting for a leader who is not a unifier in the December presidential election.
For the National Democratic Congress, he said, it has been their prayers that whoever is elected as Ghana’s president should have the ability to “keep this country together”.
Such a leader, the Vice President added, will “combine all our efforts to produce a great nation”.
Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur made the remarks when he paid a courtesy call on the paramount chief of Buipe, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II.
“We want a leader who will minimize division among us, who will combine all our attributes and who will make us a proud country and make progress so that all of us will live a better life than we are living,” he reiterated.
In his assessment, the Vice President said President John Mahama has not only got a solid record of achievement behind him as president, but also he has a strong government and a united party as a result of his unifying skills and good leadership.
In a statement delivered on his behalf, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II called for violence-free elections.
He also commended the government for the numerous developmental projects in the Gonja area and across the country.
