A member of the Council of State, Ama Benyiwa Doe, has taken a swipe at the leader of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), saying Nana Addo Akufo-Addo should rather be leaving Kalyppo for the young ones.
“If you drink the Kalyppo, when you see the young ones what will you give them?” she quizzed in Twi.
The former Central Region minister was speaking at a mini-rally held on Thursday, October 20 by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Morkwaa.
It was part of the regional campaign tour of the Vice President, Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur.
Madam Benyiwa Doe said governance is for “serious people”.
She cited how she, Minister of Education Prof. Naana Opoku Agyemang, Barbara Asamoah and Mr Amissah-Arthur are leading the party with their maturity.
“But in other parties, when the whistle is sounded, you will see small boys and girls rushing to the front.
“We want serious people for governance and that is the NDC.”
She called for a massive vote for John Dramani Mahama in the Twifo Atti-Morkwaa Constituency and a retention of Atta Amoah as Member of Parliament.
Nana Akufo-Addo’s kalyppo image went viral on social media, triggering a #KalyppoChallenge from many Ghanaians.
