Former Minister of Trades and Industry Alan Kyerematen says in spite of the many infrastructural development the John Mahama-led government vaunts about, Ghanaians are worse off.

Mr Kyerematen insists that “if the task is all about how many kilometres of road you have constructed, or the number of schools built, then the NDC is no match for the NPP”.

Alan K, as he is popularly called, made this known over the weekend in Bolgatanga as he joined New Patriotic Party’s Presidential Candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his tour of the Upper East Region.

Mr Kyerematen is the Chairman of the Trades and Industry Committee of NPP’s Campaign.

“In spite of the NDC’s singular message of infrastructural development, Ghanaians are saying that their living conditions are worse off,” he told the gathering of party supporters and sympathisers.

“Ghanaians are saying they cannot make ends meet; they cannot afford to live in these hard times. This is, clearly, a sign that the NDC has failed. Ghanaians are saying they want Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP.”

He said apart from infrastructure, which the NPP will provide, “we, in the NPP, will give you jobs to do. That is why Nana Akufo-Addo’s message everywhere he goes is that he will help establish a factory in every district, to create jobs for you”.

Mr Kyerematen reminded the people of the Region how under former President John Kufuor, the Pwalugu Tomato Factory and the Zuarungu Meat Factory were rehabilitated.

“This created thousands of jobs for the people. These factories, under President Mahama, have all collapsed. We are coming to revive all of these.”

He said the NPP will set up a groundnut processing plant in the region when it wins the 2016 election.
