Ghana and New York Red Bulls defender Gideon Baah suffered a broken tibia last weekend and will miss four to five months of action.
This means the first season of the former Asante Kotoko player in the Major League Soccer (MLS) is over.
Baah was stretchered off during the first half of New York Red Bulls’s match against Portland Timbers.
In training on Monday, July 11, head coach Jesse Marsch provided the diagnosis: Baah has broken his right leg.
The Red Bulls have not wasted any time in facilitating the recovery of their 24-year-old center back.
Baah was sent for surgery the same morning the news of his injury was announced.
Baah was the team’s only free agent signing of the off-season and he had featured in just eight matches including Sunday’s, which was his sixth start of the year.
