Highlife artiste Kofi Kinata says Yaba’s victory in Sunday’s final of Ghana’s Most Beautiful Season X is a clear indication that the ‘best comes from the west’, adding that all other four contestants produced very good performances but there only had to be one winner .
Yaba beat off competition from fellow contestants Hiba, Akos, Naa and Badu to become the first contestant from the Western Region to win the competition since its inception and most importantly gets to keep the crown for good.
She was rewarded with a four-wheel Suzuki Vitara, GH¢10,000 and a holiday trip to South Africa.
The ‘Susuka’ hitmaker, who hails from the Western Region set the crowd agog with a couple of his hit songs including his new single ‘time no dey’, which saw both young and old sing and dance along.
Speaking exclusively to 3news.com after the show, Kinata described Yaba’s win as a victory for the people in the Western Region and the whole of Ghana.
“Yaba has finally brought us the people of the Western Region a lot of joy and I am very proud of her.
“We all know the best comes from the west and it was clearly shown here at the final [Sunday] but I must say this is a victory for Ghana as well.
“The other girls showed a lot of character and produced some splendid performances but there is only one winner in every competition”.
He commended the organisers for the good work done and urged them to come up with a lot more surprises in the next edition of the reality show.
“Ghana’s Most Beautiful has really enlightened each and every one of us and I want to say kudos to TV3 for this wonderful show they put up”.
He also added that he wouldn’t stop any of his sisters from competing in the competition next year if they wish to do so.
“I have sisters and I wouldn’t stop any of them from competing if that is what they want”.
