GMB10 contestant: I’m married with two kids but it won’t stop me

gmb11Eastern Regional contestant for this year’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful, Akos, says marriage and raising children should not be a barrier to a woman’s progress in life.

Akos who is married with two children, told 3FM Wednesday that she hopes to win the covetous GMB crown to demonstrate her point.

“I believe in multi tasking and I am so blessed because my husband also believes marriage isn’t a barrier to doing anything in life,” she told Miriam Osei Agyemang, host of 3FM’s mid-morning show, Urban Blend, on Wednesday.

This was when she and Hiba, Northern Regional contestant appeared on the show to share their experiences and also to talk about the pageant, which is in its 10th year.

“Society has made marriage look like a box where you get into it and you need to lock yourself and not come out but it shouldn’t be like that because times have changed,” Akos observed.

She said  due to this perception,  a lot of young graduates nowadays want to get everything in life and finish their masters degree before they consider marriage.

“There are so many young girls like myself and it’s for this reason that so many university graduates and young girls, want to finish their masters, attain everything in life before they settle down but I don’t believe in that perception. Life is all about planning” she said

Akos added: “The fact that I’m married doesn’t mean I have to be indoors because for all you know I may be a destiny helper to somebody.”
