Gov’t gives Ministry of Health clearance to employ 440 doctors

A total of 440 medical doctors who have completed their house jobs are to be employed into various hospitals and health institutions across the country.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Health Monday said it has received financial clearance to employ the doctors who completed their housemanship in 2015 and 2016 and have permanently registered with the Medical and Dental Council.

“These Medical Officers are expected to obtain a recruitment form from any hof the appointing Agencies of their choice across the country,” said the statement signed by the Head of Public Relations, Tony Goodman.

Of the figure to be employed, 238 will be posted to the Ghana Health Service; 38 to Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital; 86 to Christian Health Ass. of Ghana; 20 to Cape Coast Teaching Hospital; 29 to the Tamale Teaching Hospital; 20 to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital; three to Police Hospital; and two to the Mental Health Authority and

One each will be posted to the Centre Scientific Research Into Plant Medicine and the Centre for Clinical Genetics while two will be posted to the University of Cape Coast Hospital.
