The presidential candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, has charged politicians in Ghana to emulate the example of former President Dr. Hilla Limann.
He was speaking in Gwolu at the tomb of the late Kouro Hilla Limann III who was President under the Third Republic of Ghana.
Present were Kouro Lawyer Botie Limann IV (paramount chief of Gwolu), Kwabena Bomfeh Jnr, CPP Campaign Strategist, Emmanuel Kwao Ogborjor, CPP National Organiser, Upper West Regional Executives as well as Prof. Edmund Delle, National Chairman and Leader of the party.
Kobina Greenstreet recounted the selflessness, honesty, dedication and intelligence of Dr. Hilla Limann, recalling that he served Ghana with great distinction as a public servant, historian, diplomat and politician.
“Ghana needs leaders like this who come to serve not their own self-interest but the interest of Ghanaians. Leaders of this kind are rare but always live fond memories in the hearts and minds of Ghanaians and generations yet unborn.
On his part, Kouro Lawyer Burktie Limann IV welcomed the CPP delegation and congratulated the leadership of the party for their unity of purpose.
A prayer was said by the linguist of the Gwolu paramountcy to invoke the spirit of the Allah and the Sissala ancestry to lead and guide the CPP presidential campaign to victory come November 7, 2016.
The “Apam Foforↄ” tour then continued to a mini rally in the Gwolu township where the flagbearer was introduced to a large group of excited party supporters.
The next stop of the trail was in Tumu and after greeting the Chiefs another mini rally before the team left for the Upper East Region.
