Award-winning Ghanaian musician Guru says boxing legend Muhammad Ali stood for humanity and will forever remain in memory.
The former world heavyweight champion died late on June 3 at a hospital in the US city of Phoenix, Arizona, having been admitted for a respiratory illness, a condition that was complicated by Parkinson’s disease.
Speaking exclusively to 3news.com, the renowned rapper who released a song for the late boxer legend titled Muhammad Ali eulogised him saying Ali was a man who stood for humanity and impacted positively in the lives of people
“I had this idea about celebrating a legend and I think he’s really been part of most of our lives in terms of impacting positively into the system of humanity.
“He wasn’t only a boxer but more of an inspirational person in our lives so I did something for him and after about three months of releasing the video, he passed away.
“I really respect him a lot because he was the kind of person who fought for humanity so I did a song just to celebrate him before his death”.
