Gyan loses place as highest paid player in China

Asamoah Gyan

Asamoah Gyan has lost his place as the highest paid football player in China after the summer arrivals of club mate Hulk and the Italian international Graziano Pelle.

The Black Stars captain sampled the boom of Chinese football early with a lucrative deal and while he still gets paid handsomely he is no longer the leader of the pay pack.

Gyan, who earns a staggering £11.8m a year, is now the 7th highest paid player in the world after Hulk and Pelle bulldozed their way into the top half.

Hulk will receive £16.5m-a-year, making him the third highest paid player in the world and highest in China while Graziano Pelle will receive £12.5m-a-year (sixth most paid player in the world).
