Former Ghana midfielder Baba Amando claims Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan needs him (Amando) in the national team to aid the ‘Baby Jet’ reach his full potential in goal scoring.
The outspoken stylish playmaker believes that though Asamoah Gyan is in top shape and is scoring for the Black Stars, the captain could do far better if he had a player of his (Amando’s) caliber in the team.
“Looking at the current state of the national team, I need to come back and play just as Roger Miller did for Cameroon,” Baba Amando told Accra-based Onua FM.
“Baby Jet Capito is doing very well as the leader of the team and scoring goals alright, but if I was with the team, he will be scoring three or four goals in every game because he needs a player like me who can create accurate, intelligent and the ‘magic’ chances for him to score.”
“If I’m given the opportunity, Ghanaians will be the better judges to determine whether I should be in the national team or not.”
Baba Amando has eight caps with two goals for the Black Stars.
