Thirty-nine female Ghanaians, who are in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj, are set to be repatriated.

It is unclear what their infractions are but a release from the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) said they are without an adult male company as the rites demand.

Out of the 39, nine are said to be minors and 30 have been categorized as “inappropriately categorized as without guardians” since they are less than 40 years.

Ghana’s Ambassador to the Kingdom, Saeed Sinare, is said to be working with the Chairman of PAOG, Abdul Rauf Tanko Ibrahim, and immigration officers to get the situation rectified.

“It is our hope that when it is done the affected pilgrims will return to continue with their hajj pilgrimage,” the release from PAOG said.
