American jazz musician Bob James says he is overwhelmed by the hospitality given him by Ghanaians since he arrived in the country for a jazz concert.
Bob James is a two-time Grammy Award-winning smooth jazz keyboardist, arranger and record producer. He is recognized as one of the original founders of smooth jazz and renowned for the complexity of his arrangements and instrumentals. His work is frequently sampled.
Speaking exclusively to 3news.com ahead of a Stanbic Bank invitational Jazz concert, the renowned Grammy award winner spoke about his admiration for Ghana and how well he has been received since arriving in the country.
“I just discovered that my music is played a lot in Ghana and I have a lot of fans here, as I have been approached by so many nice people since I got in.
“They have been talking about songs I recorded years ago which I have almost forgotten about and there is a particular song called ‘shamboozie’ which is well known by a lot of people around here.
“It’s fantastic to know that my music has been heard that much over here and its my first opportunity to be directly in front of the audience and play it live.
“I really have a good feeling about being here because the people have been so nice to me and I would come back here any day”.
