The Member of Parliament for Okaikoi Central, Patrick Yaw Boamah has officially welcomed staff and management of Citi TV to Tesano, the new location of the station.
On Wednesday, February 1, 2023, the MP along with his constituency executives and other New Patriotic Party officials, paid staff and management of Citi TV a courtesy call.
The station moved its operations from Adabraka to Tesano at the beginning of January 2023.
In an interview with citinewsroom.com, Mr. Boamah praised Samuel Attah-Mensah, Managing Director of Citi TV for his excellent leadership role.
“Mr. Attah-Mensah has been a friend for more than thirty years. He has a vision for the media space in this country. We all saw how he started with Citi FM and now Citi TV and how it has grown. I’m so lucky that during my tenure as MP, Citi TV has been set up in my constituency. What can an MP do other than to welcome this establishment that is going to add value to my community”.
He believes the re-location of Citi TV to Tesano will further boost the local economy of the area and to a large extent the Okaikoi Central constituency.
“I’m sure most of your staff are going to move into the community because of proximity sake. It’s going to enhance the well-being of landlords and property owners in the community. Secondly, the local economy is going to benefit from what you do here. Job opportunities will be created here, so it’s very important that I associate with Mr. Attah-Mensah and this establishment.
The MP was accompanied by his constituency Chairman, Personal Assistant, Coordinator, Financial Secretary and a host of others.
In a related development, the Chief Executive of the Okaikoi North Municipal Assembly, Boye Lartey during a courtesy call said, “We are happy that you [management and staff of Citi TV] are joining us within the vicinity. We have been looking forward to something like this for a very long time and this is the time we are getting ours. We will do everything within our power to at least, help you do your work the way you want to. You will receive all the protection. You should also not hesitate to call on us in case you need any support within our power. You are most welcome.”
The General Manager of Citi TV, Bernard Avle entreated the MCE and other assembly members to make the constituency a centre of excellence.
“We are just encouraging you to do the right thing. If there is a need to do a feature on local development, it will be nice to use Okaikoi North as the base. It is also an opportunity to showcase some of the good things you have done. We use local stories to tell national stories on roads, sanitation and what have you.”
“So I will just encourage you to make Okaikoi North a centre piece of excellence. Citi TV is a credible mouthpiece for development, we are very clear because, for us, we are here to make sure that the country develops”, Mr. Avle further stressed.
