Jessica Ani, the woman who stirred up controversy with her dance at Omah Lay’s concert in the UK, directly addressed the circulating rumors about them kissing on stage.
She explicitly stated that any discussion about her kissing Omah Lay during the performance was unfounded, attributing any perceived intimacy to shadows.
In a video shared to her TikTok page, she clarified, “Another thing I wanna say, me and Omah Lay never kissed. Why would Omah Lay kiss his fan on stage? Like he’s not mad. You can clearly see in my video, me and Omah Lay weren’t kissing. Obviously, the shadow is gonna make it look like we did, but we didn’t.”
In her detailed update about the aftermath of the viral dance, Jessica clarified that her apology was solely directed to her boyfriend. She straightforwardly said, “I’m not sorry to you guys. The only person that I owe an apology to is him. I don’t owe you guys anything.”
Expressing frustration with the continued attention, Jessica urged everyone to move on. She emphasized that both she and her boyfriend had moved past the controversy. Contrary to online assumptions, she revealed that she and her boyfriend were still in touch, dispelling notions of lasting damage to their relationship.
Confronting the online hate comments, Jessica pointed out the irony of discussions about mental health on the internet while simultaneously engaging in online bullying.
Looking to bring closure to the situation, Jessica expressed a sincere hope for collective healing. “I just hope everybody heals from the situation because I have. I hope everybody wakes up in the morning and they think about what to do with their own life.”
