HE Country Director for Uganda-based music distribution company, Omziki Distribution, Jonilar is set to organise a digital music seminar across the country.

The maiden edition of the initiative slated for Wednesday, July 26, at Jasikan Municipal Assembly Hall, Oti Region aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of musicians, producers and other relevant players in the music space.

The seminar equally intends to promote, market, and highlight government policies on creative arts, particularly the music industry.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Jonilar real name Jonathan Nii Laryea said his team was motivated by the overwhelming response to their Digital Music Education Series podcast launched in 2019.

“The podcast has garnered a broad listenership across Ghana and even beyond, so we realised the immense need to extend this valuable education to every corner of the country.

“The significant surge in streaming numbers, coupled with the numerous seminars, radio and television appearances, and the substantial following we have gained from countries like Nigeria, Liberia, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda, are a testament to the progress we are making,” he said.

The event is a collaboration between Jonilar.net and Digishare Africa, with support from Champs Hub Ghana, ShuggaCreative, and the Office of the Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency, Honourable Kofi Iddie Adams.

With a passion for digital music education and industry growth, Jonilar has been instrumental in driving positive change in the music landscape through his podcast and various educational initiatives

He mentioned that patrons will have the opportunity to network, exchange ideas, and gain practical knowledge to positively drive their careers in the right direction.

“Participants can look forward to engaging sessions covering a wide range of pertinent topics, including digital distribution, monetization strategies, copyright and licensing, effective marketing and branding techniques, as well as navigating the complexities of government policies related to the creative arts sector,” he stated.
