JUST IN: Shatta Wale granted ¢100k bail

Reggae/Dancehall musician Shatta Wale and three others early today reappeared before the court.

The singer, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah and his accomplices were remanded into prison custody by an Accra Circuit Court on Thursday, October 21, when they made their first appearance.

On the court proceedings in court today, Shatta Wale and his accomplices, have been granted a GH¢100,000 each bail by an Accra Circuit Court. .

Shatta Wale, on October 19, turned himself in after the police had declared him wanted.

He had allegedly fabricated a story that he had been shot and receiving treatment, which turned out to be a hoax.

But when he appeared before the law court, he pleaded not guilty to the charge of publishing false news and causing fear and panic.

His coconspirators, Kojo Owusu Koranteng, Idris Yusif, and Eric Venator, were also charged for abetment of crime.

Likewise, they also pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The case has been adjourned to November 9, 2021.
